Welcome to the School of Chemistry Careers and Employability page for current students. There are lots of useful resources, information and contacts on these pages that can help you to identify and secure a career that suits you, your ambitions and your skills.
You will be able to see what current employers have to say about what they look for in a prospective employee and get some tips and advice from our previous students that have experienced the job markets of today.
You can also explore the various ways in which you can develop your skills and enhance your CV, and take a look at the useful resources and employer profiles that can give you a head start in deciding the right career path for you.

The School’s Designated Careers Consultant
Laura Blackledge is the School of Chemistry’s Senior Careers Consultant. She leads a team of consultants that look after the MAPS facility. She is available to give help on all areas examples which may include checking C.V.s and online applications, helping decide what area you would like to work in, or giving mock interviews. You can book a drop in session with her team for one-to-one advice.

There will also be a number of longer appointments each week at the Careers Centre for any student that would like a more in depth discussion. These can be booked online.
